DIAD/ DIAM:
For our March Done In A Meeting (DIAM), we are collecting eggs and candy for the Foster Closet of Michigan-Genesee County's Easter Egg Event. Foster Closet asks that the eggs be filled, sorted by age, and counted bagged in bags of 25. We kindly ask that the bags of 25 be marked with the age they are for, for the following ages: 0-2, 2-5, 6-12, and 13-17. You can pack and bag and mark the eggs yourself (preferred), or we can do that for you. Please bring your items to the March 8th meeting, or donate via PayPal, as you are able. For our March Done in A Day (DIAD), we will be volunteering to benefit Fenton Center of Hope on Saturday, March 12th. from 9:00am-12:00pm at Community Threads of Fenton, 1370 N Leroy St, Fenton. Members will be on location at Community Threads to support our community by helping to fill the food pantry truck for departure to Center of Hope. Members will gather in the morning and assist community members by taking their donations from them and loading up the truck. Food banks across the area are specifically short on cereal for families. Our March DIAD #2 will be volunteering for Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village's Read-a-thon on Saturday, March 26th from 12:00-2:00pm, at 4119 S Saginaw Street in Flint. Students in grades k-10th (they anticipate mostly k-5th) are invited to come and bring books, and they will also have books available for students and volunteers. Volunteers will be asked to read and listen to students read, help serve cookies and milk, and monitor students overall. A Taste of Heaven will be donating cookies with inspirational messages on them. Volunteers are invited to bring cookies and/or books. SBEV anticipates about 30 children will participate.
